IFIP

The International Federation of Information Processing Societies, IFIP, is the meeting place for the global community of national and international IT societies.

Major IFIP activities happen within

• the General Assembly (GA),
• some 15 Technical Committees (TC) and
• some 100 Working Groups (WG).

Switzerland's IFIP member is ICTswitzerland in close cooperation with SARIT. Switzerland has elected representations in the GA and in the TCs; these representatives constitute the Swiss IFIP Committee.

The WGs are bodies for scientific cooperation and discussions. Membership in a WG awarded to scientists working successfully in a specific area by the corresponding WG.
